Key Persons

At East Prescot Road, every child has a key person.

A key person is your child's very own special grown up, who will spend time getting to know your child, their abilities and learning needs, building warm trusting relationships, helping your child to settle in and make secure attachments.

Your child's key person will plan learning experiences for your child and record their learning and progress through the OPAL assessment system. They ensure that every child’s learning and care is tailored to meet their individual needs. Your key person will work with you so that together we can support your child’s holistic development at home and at school. They will also help families engage with more specialist support if needed.

Your child’s key person will arrange appointments to have a chat about how your child is progressing.

However, please feel free to have a word at any time as we have an open-door policy if you want to talk about a concern or share some good news. Normally, the end of the day is the best time to catch us.
